Students in the hallway

We are partnering with local schools to offer a FREE certification course ($30 value) on suicide prevention to our parents, guardians and adult community members who support our students outside of school. Question.Persuade. Refer. Is a certification course for community-level suicide prevention. It is modeled after CPR for adult community members and will prepare you to act as the “first on scene” respondent to save a life. QPR is to suicide prevention as CPR is to medical emergencies. You will learn how to recognize signs and symptoms of depression and suicidal ideation, practice having difficult and open conversations about self-harm and suicidal thoughts, understand the resources that are available and how to get your child, friend, coworker or family member connected with these services. You will walk away with an official certification as a QPR Gatekeeper and will be able to use the information and skills you learn in this session to support anyone in your life that you believe to be struggling with these thoughts and feelings. Limited space is available, registration is required.

Day/Time: Thursday February 25th 6:30-8 PM
