Chris is a native of Palatine, Illinois, outside of Chicago.  He earned a BA from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and later his MAT from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Regis University in Denver.

Chris began his career in public education in 2000, teaching four years at a high school in the Chicago Public Schools.  Upon moving to Colorado in 2004, Chris taught ELD, Social Studies and Math at a metro-area high school and earned certification for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (which he still holds).  Since then he has served at several Denver area high schools (including one year at Manual) and two middle schools as an instructional coach, dean, and assistant principal.  Chris returned to Manual High School as Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning in 2023.

A long time resident of Northwest Denver, Chris has a daughter and a son who each attend school in DPS.  When they have breaks from their athletic schedules, they sometimes accompany their dad on skiing, mountain biking, and fly-fishing trips.
