Dear Manual Families,
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community. At Manual High School, it’s important to remember that all of our students and families belong and are included in our community, regardless of how the election outcome may have made them feel otherwise. On
Wednesday, I shared the following words with our students and I wanted to share them with you, our families as well:
At Manual, it is important for all of our families to know that you belong because of who you are not not regardless of who you are.
En Manual, es importante que todas nuestras familias sepan que pertenecen por lo que no son, sin importar quiénes son.
You belong because of your sexual orientation and gender identity.
Pertenecen por tu orientación sexual y identidad.
You belong because of your religious beliefs and spiritual practices.
Pertenecen por tus creencias religiosas y prácticas espirituales.
You belong because of your racial and ethnic background.
Pertenecen por su origen racial y cultura
You belong because of your linguistic and cultural heritage.
Pertenecen por tu herencia lingüística y cultural.
You belong because of your abilities and disabilities.
Perteneces por tus habilidades y diferencias como persona.
You belong because of your citizenship status and your immigration journey.
Perteneces por tu estatus de ciudadanía y tu viaje migratorio.
You belong because of your identity, because of your beliefs, because of your history and because of your story.
Perteneces por tu identidad, por tus creencias, por tu historia y por tu relato.
Important Announcements:
Family Conferences: I want to inform you that the Family Conferences have been rescheduled from Thursday, November 14th to Tuesday,
December 3rd from 4:00 – 6:00.
This is a great opportunity to discuss your child’s progress with grades, attendance and their most recent results on the SAT.
Attendance: I want to emphasize the importance of attendance as we approach the end of the quarter. Our current attendance has dropped, and it is essential that we work together to get our students back to at least 85%.
Winter Athletics are Here: If students are interested in joining Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball or Cheer, please have them see Athletic Director Mickey Grant to sign up for Family ID and ensure that they have everything they need to be ready for the season to start.
Mark Your Calendars:
Manual Council on Wednesday, November 13th from 5:00 – 6:30 PM in Room 104: A chance for families to engage with school leadership and discuss important topics.
Manual Campus Open House for interested families on November 19th: Come learn more about our programs and meet our staff. See the attached flier below.
The Manual Campus Winter Showcase Night on Friday, December 13th: Join us as we celebrate all of Manual’s amazing students and their coursework.
Your partnership is invaluable to us, and I appreciate your attention to these matters.
