Hello Manual Families,
We are just a month away from the end of the school year and it is important that we all work together to make sure May is just as important and productive for our students as any other month of the school year. Students need to be in class, focused and engaged each day of May in order to see growth and success this year and in years to come. The Manual community has a lot of celebrations and events coming up in May so please take the time to read through this letter in order to know about all the fun events for students and families to enjoy in the coming weeks.
Community Focus Area:
Attendance: We must continue to come together to get students to school until the very last day of school. Manual’s attendance has dropped over quarter four and it is essential that students attend every day. Please support student arrival at 8:20 in order to be on time for class which starts at 8:30.
Quarter 4 Attendance: Seniors 70% , Juniors 82%, Sophomores 83% , Freshman 80%
Manual’s goal for Quarter IV for all grade levels is 83%. It is essential that all four grades improve their attendance in May in order to meet our goal for Quarter IV.
Coming Up:
May 6th – May 10th: Teacher Appreciation Week. Please reach out to our School Operations Manager Carl Dixon at Carl_Dixon@dpsk12.net if you would like to contribute or volunteer for Teacher Appreciation Week.
Tuesday, May 7th: Donuts with DeRemer: Parents and Guardians come have a donut with Principal DeRemer discuss how you and your student are experiencing Manual. In Room 118 from 7:30 – 8:30.
Thursday, May 9th: Baseball Senior Night @ 4:00 p.m.
Friday, May 10th: Late Start for Students – Classes Start at 10:00. We Got This – Mental Health Matters Summit at Manual. All students will attend this all-day event.
Tuesday, May 14th: Seniors Last Day and Athletic Banquet from 5:00 – 7:00.
Thursday, May 16th: Opening Night of the Spring Musical Encore 24: A Journey of Love and Loss at 7:00 p.m. in the Dr. Joyce Marie Davis Auditorium.
Friday, May 17th: Late Start for Students – Classes Start at 10:00.
May 16th – May 18th: Spring Musical Encore 24: A Journey of Love and Loss at 7:00 p.m. in the Dr. Joyce Marie Davis Auditorium.
Friday, May 17th: Senior Checkout and Lunch and Senior Signing Day at 2:30 in the auditorium.
Tuesday, May 21st: Choir, Band and Orchestra Concert in the Dr. Joyce Marie Davis Auditorium at 7:00.
Friday, May 24th: Late Start for Students – Classes Start at 10:00.
Saturday, May 25th: Graduation Ceremony in the Dr. Joyce Marie Davis Auditorium at Manual – 10:00 a.m.
Monday, May 27th: No School – Memorial Day.
Friday, May 31st: Late Start for Students – Classes Start at 10:00.
Wednesday, June 5th: Last Day of School for Students.
