Hello Manual Families,
We had a great week at Manual this week. Our students were focused, engaged and connected and I am thankful to be a part of this work. I will keep this message short as we head into the long weekend but it is important to narrow our focus as a community in order to improve the likely hood of success for our students.
Community Focus:
Manual has one of THE HIGHEST first period tardy rates in the city. Almost 20% of Manual’s students are tardy to first period. While Manual’s attendance has increased significantly but our students are tardy to period one too often. There are a number of reasons for why a student may be late and at Manual we understand those challenges. At the same time it is very important that we come together to get students to school on time more often.
Please help your student arrive to school by 8:20 in the morning in order to be ready and on time to class by 8:30.
Looking Ahead:
Monday, January 15th: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday – No School.
Thursday, January 18th: Girls and Boys Basketball vs. Forge Christian. Girl’s Varsity at 5:30, Boys Varsity at 7:00.
Friday, January 19th: Late Start. Class starts at 10:00.
