Welcome back to Semester II News

Posted January 2, 2024

Hello Manual Families,

I am so excited to welcome our students and families back for semester II. We had such a successful first semester and I am confident that we will have an even better second semester. In order to be prepared for our first week of semester II, it is important to make sure we are all on the same page heading into this week.

Semester II Priorities:

1. Attendance: Our school wide goal for attendance for Quarter II is 85%. That will take all of us working together to make sure our students are here each day.

2. Period 1 Tardies: Students need to be on time for Period 1 which means they should arrive by 8:20 and be ready for class by 8:30.

3. Achievement: This means pushing students to pass every single class so that students stay on track to graduate. No F’s for any students. We can do it, collectively.

Mark Your Calendars:

Wednesday, January 3rd: First Day of Semester II for all Students.

Friday, January 5th: NO LATE START for Students. Class starts at 8:30.

Friday, January 12th: Late Start for Students. Class Starts at 10:00 a.m.

Monday, January 15th: No School – MLK Holiday.

Important Announcement:

All 11th Grades will be able to take FREE SAT Tutoring in partnership with the organization Tutored by Teachers. There will be a variety of options for students to register for that will work best for their schedules. Information about registration will come out on January 9th with all of the times and options for registration available. This is an incredible opportunity for all 11th graders that should not be missed. Check out my communications in the coming weeks to register for this free SAT preparation program.

I cannot wait to see your students on tomorrow for the start of semester II. It is going to be an amazing semester together.
