Hello Manual Families,
We had an incredible homecoming week at Manual. Students celebrated spirit days, engaged in class and were remarkably responsible students this week. We have a lot of big events again next week that I want to make sure we are all oriented to the week and weeks ahead.
Looking Ahead to Next Week:
Monday, October 23rd: All students will be going on a college tour on Monday. Students will need to arrive at school at 8:30 a.m. and will meet in their advisory classes in order to prepare for the day. All students should come to school with a jacket, water bottle and comfortable shoes. The school will provide lunch for all students. Lastly, students will be released early when they return from their college tours likely between 1:30 and 2:30.
If you would prefer that your student NOT ATTEND the college tour on Monday, please email Assistant Principal Hannah Meshenuk at Hannah_Meshenuk@dpsk12.net or call her at (720) 423 – 6379.
Tuesday, October 24th: Breakfast with the Principals from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m in the library. Please join myself and McAuliffe Manual Principal Doug Clinkscales as we talk about our vision for the future of this shared campus.
Wednesday, October 25th: 9th, 10th and 11th graders will take a practice P/SAT on Wednesday. Students will need to arrive by 8:30 and will need to bring their computers to school in order to take the practice P/SAT. Students will be released when they complete the test sometime between 12:30 and 2:00.
Friday, October 27th: Next Friday, Manual returns to late starts. 10/27 is a late start and classes will start at 10:00 a.m. for students.
Focus Areas:
First Period Attendance: Please ensure as much as possible that your student arrives to Manual by 8:20 in order to be in class and ready to learn by 8:30. There has been an increase in first period tardies and we must do the work together to make sure students arrive on time and do not miss precious learning time.
Important Links:
Parent Bess Survey: Please use this link to provide important information your the social-emotional needs of your students.
Tours for Future T-Bolt Families: Do you know a family interested in learning more about Manual? You can provide them the information on the image below or have them go to tinyurl.com/ManualTourForm to sign up for a tour.
It is an honor to work with your children each and every day.
