Diana Madriz

Denver Scholarship Foundation College Advisor

College Readiness , Student Support Services

Diana calls the green chile smelling streets of Rio Rancho, New Mexico home. She moved to Colorado in 2013 when she started at the University of Denver. After graduating with her Masters Degree in Higher Education, she started working at the Denver Scholarship Foundation and had the privilege of being placed at Manual High School. She has been at Manual High School since 2015 working as the DSF College Advisor. In this role she supports the college going culture at Manual by focusing on college advising, financial aid and college coaching. Diana primarily works with seniors in creating their post high school plans but any student can visit the Future Center with questions or for support. As the oldest daughter to Mexican immigrant parents, Diana has used education as a way to build and share resources and supports for her family and her community. Education has allowed her to open opportunities and has allowed her to choose, create and make change possible in an otherwise inequitable system. Diana feels an overwhelming responsibility to give back to her community and has dedicated her career to leveraging opportunities and building greater access to education. If it’s opened up greater possibilities for her, Diana firmly believes it can open up opportunities for all students and families.
